Welcome to Summer Rose Performing Arts. Our School is based in East Horsley, Surrey. We strive to support, nurture and encourage all ages and abilities, making learning to dance enjoyable, rewarding and exciting. Whether you want to come to class to get fit and have fun, or if you wish to pursue dance as a professional career, Summer Rose Performing Arts has something to offer you.

We pride ourself on having a passionate and personal touch, each and every student counts. We are a friendly and experienced team, and look forward to welcoming new students to the school.

As well as our regular classes, we offer our students the opportunity to take part in showsISTD dance exams, dance parties, local performances and theatre trips.

All our teachers are fully qualified, DBS checked, insured and hold a valid chaperone license. We always have a first aid trained member of staff on site during classes. We take safeguarding very seriously and keeping our students safe and well is our top priority.

We aim to produce our main summer show every year at a local theatre venue. In addition, we arrange smaller

performances in-house and at local events to showcase the students work. Watching week takes place on the final week of term for parents to watch their childs progress. We also arrange theatre visits for our students to see local and West End shows!

Dance Exams

Dance exams can be taken in Ballet, Tap and Modern by students who are at the required standard. Although these exams are optional, they provide a great sense of achievement in our students and are therefore encouraged for those capable.

We follow the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) syllabus in Ballet, Tap and Modern. The ISTD is one of the world’s leading dance examination boards with the widest range of dance genres available.

Students will work towards dance exams in these classes with the inclusion of set and free work. Dance teachers will decide when students are ready for exams.
